St. Thomas
St. Thomas - Things to do Guide Below
The beautiful St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix are the three islands that make up the U.S. Virgin Islands. I had the pleasure of visiting both St. Thomas and St. John this trip. St. Croix is still on the list as I’ve heard nothing but great things! Everyone has their favorite of the three, personally even though I was stationed in St. Thomas, my day trip to St. John had me hooked!
St. Thomas is a small, quaint island that was once a Dutch colony, and currently still a majority of the population is Dutch, followed by a large Hispanic population. It was very nice seeing the diversity in food, music and culture but it didn’t give that Caribbean feel you expect when you go to the islands. I will say the beaches in St. Thomas are all stunning and picturesque, so if you just need a beach getaway, you will not be disappointed!
But once I arrived in St. John, I instantly felt that Caribbean vibe; the vibrant colors and their safari taxi’s! It instantly made me feel like I was on an island. I saw way more Afro-Caribbeans in St. John which made me feel way more connected. Just like St. Thomas, every single beach is mouth dropingly gorgeous. Check out my guide below for some other things to do in USVI besides the beach!
But keep in mind, the USVI is pretty expensive, ensure you take out enough cash for taxi’s and small shops. Also, I noticed many rentals are outdated in their appliances, and overall look and feel, so if a more modern stay is what you’re looking for, get ready to pay up!!
