El Salvador
El Salvador GUIDE BELOW
El Salvador is a magical place! I know your first thought may be, “But is it safe though?” For a long time, it was deemed a place too violent to travel to, but I’m here to tell you, yes it is safe! I felt completely safe the entire trip. However, just like any other country, you have to use common sense, and know the areas to avoid.
What really helped was having a personal driver who took us everywhere and knew where NOT to go. (Contact me if you are interested in using him). Uber is also available there. My recommendation, if you find an Uber driver that you feel comfortable with, use them your whole trip!
I was so surprised at the amount of dope things to do in El Salvador. The government is really trying to make it a tourist destination! Many natives were so shocked to see us there, and asked how we heard about the country, like it’s not on the map LOL but I get it, they probably don’t get many tourists, and black ones at that!
I’ve listed on my guide some of the most amazing things we did in El Salvador. To get it started, our stay at this immaculate AirBnb in the city center of San Salvador was gorgeous with massive space, panoramic views and 24hour security. You may have also seen the famous rainbow slide on Instagram, go experience it at Picnic Steak House, along with their amazing views and trails.Only 20 mins from San Salvador. Or travel through the scenic “Rutas de Las Flores” which is a 20 mile route of beautiful colonial towns, coffee plantations, filled with the culture of the indigenous people. Also, on the Rutas de Las Flores is Cafe Albania, an adventure park where I was able to ride a bike on a tightrope, but they have so many more adventures to offer. It is a must do!
The food you must try are Pupusas, the national dish of El Salvador! They are cornmeal tortillas stuffed with beans, veggies, cheese and meat. Make sure you relax all the food off at Santa Teresa Hot Springs, with 30 pools filled with warm natural water, saunas and more! Lastly, enjoy your time at Nawi Beach House, a pool club and beach house, with horse back riding, DJ, complimentary drink and vibes! Check out my top 5 list below and discover the magic of El Salvador too!
